The NC CARES amateur radio network that served eastern North Carolina and was accessed from SCHEART on DTMF node 80 officially went out of service in September. Effective immediately, SCHEART DTMF node 80 can no longer access NC CARES network.
Update: Repeater returned to service on 8/23/2022 August 18, 2022. The Pickens DMR repeater is off the air due to an internal failure. The repeater is being sent to Motorola for warranty repairs. Motorola could not provide an estimated repair time for this SCHEART partner repeater.
The upgrade of the statewide microwave network continues to affect the SCHEART repeater system. Work at all sites should be completed by November and normal connectivity restored. Additionally, localized storms have affected several partner repeater’s connections this week.
