The South Carolina Emergency Management Division has requested SCHEART implement emergency operations mode starting Tuesday, August 6th.  Tropical Storm Debby is forecast to drop historic levels of rain on the state.  Rainfall amounts may exceed 30 inches in coastal zones and 15 inches in the midlands and 8 inches upstate.  Flooding and power outages are anticipated.  Repeaters of the SCHEART network will be linked statewide starting around 0800 on Tuesday and remain linked until SCEMD releases the request.  The DMR system will also transition to emergency operations.  At this time the State Emergency Operations Center radio room will be staffed during day shifts starting Tuesday.  The first statewide net is currently scheduled for 10:00 on Tuesday.
