South Carolina is under a winter weather warning this weekend. SCEMD will have a limited staff working this weekend. Major impact will be on transportation with minimum impact to communications. SCHEART will increase readiness level by providing statewide linking of both UHF and VHF repeaters this weekend. The SEOC radio room will not be staffed, but volunteers will be monitoring the system. All operators should remember to 1) Key your mike and wait 2 seconds before you start talking to allow all repeaters to link, 2) leave breaks of 5 seconds between transmissions to allow any urgent traffic access to the system, 3) Keep individual transmissions short (around a minute) to allow any urgent traffic to faster access to the system, and 4) should conditions arise the requires net activation, follow direction of the net control station.
