SCHEART will be supporting the 2021 South Carolina Full Scale Exercise on Monday, April 19th and Saturday April 24th. On April 19th, the SCHEART network will be configured to support agencies deployed to a forward command location. This day focuses on state agencies and special communication teams who deploy and the need to establish communications locally and to the State Emergency Operations Center. South Carolina counties are not participating in the events scheduled for April 19th. The State Emergency Operations Center radio room will be active on the 19th along with AUXCOMM teams that will be supporting members of the state Communication Unit.
Saturday, April 24th is solely focused on county to county and county to state communication capabilities. The exercise is open to all South Carolina counties, ARES members, RACES members and interested amateur radio operators. As of March 29th, over 20 counties have committed to participate in this communications exercise. The State Emergency Operations Center radio room will be active during this event and the SCHEART network will be configured to provide optimum statewide communications. Players should expect normal paths to route messages may fail or become over loaded at points during the exercise.
