The South Carolina Department of Public Health will be conducting a simulated healthcare exercise on Friday, April 11, 2025. The exercise will include elements all four SCDPH regions and Medical Reserve Corps volunteers. SCHEART has been requested to support communications for this exercise which will focus on a major power failure event. Amateur Radio operators will provide communication for two special needs shelters that will be established in Orangeburg. These shelters will need to communicate to the DPH Regional Command Post (RCP) and Area Coordination Center (ACC) and the SEOC.
The SEOC radio room will serve as the Net Control Station for this exercise. SCHEART repeaters in Orangeburg, Sumter, and Columbia will be linked to provide two channel talk path for supporting EOC to EOC traffic and a separate channel for Healthcare tactical traffic. The Orangeburg, Columbia and Sumter repeaters will be linked from 8:45 AM to 2:15 PM on April 11th.. Please follow the NCS directions should you need to use any of these repeater. All other SCHEART repeaters will be operating normally and will not be used in the exercise.
