Announcing COOP & SKYWARN Open House Day Saturday April 22, 2017
Our Cooperative Weather Observers & SKYWARN Ham Radio Spotters are critically important to the National Weather Service’s mission:

We’d like to say thank you to our volunteers for the priceless work you do. You are cordially invited to an exclusive open house!
This is not a public event. It’s only for our Cooperative Weather Observers, Ham Radio Operators involved or interested in SKYWARN, and their families.
Where & When:
Saturday April 22, 2017 8 AM to 3 PM EST.
NWS Forecast Office Columbia, SC
2909 Aviation Way, W. Columbia, SC 29170
(We are at the CAE Airport)
Events:
•Special Event Radio Station WX4CAE – operational the entire day.
•Presentations:
•8 – 10 AM: SKYWARN Spotter Class.
•10 – 11 AM: WX4CAE Station Overview and intro to NCS.
•11 AM – Noon: SKYWARN Committee Formation Meeting.
•NWS, SC and GA ARES Representatives and area club members in our County Warning Area are asked to attend.
•Noon – 1 PM: Lunch and office visit.
•1 – 2 PM: History & Future of the COOP Observing Program.
