The 2026 South Carolina Statewide Full Scale Exercise is scheduled for March 24 and 25. SCHEART has been requested to support communications during this exercise. This exercise will focus on a response to multiple wild fires around the state. The SCHEART repeater network will be configured to support the exercise based on the number of a counties participating and affected during the exercise. The exercise will run from 0800 to 1700 on both days.
The SCHEART repeater network is part of a layered communication P.A.C.E. plan. During the exercise, all levels of the Primary, Alternate, Contingent and Emergency communication paths will be tested. So there will be extended periods of time will little traffic on the SCHEART network. Operators are free to use the network during those periods but please keep transmissions short (less than 1 minute) and allow breaks between keys of the repeater. K4EMD, State Emergency Operations Center traffic takes priority. Please follow directions of the net control station K4EMD.
