2025 ARES/RACES Fall Exercise 9/13/2025

SCEMD has requested SCHEART support the 2025 ARES/RACES NVIS Fall Exercise.  This exercise will be conducted on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.  The SCHEART DMR system move to Emergency Operational Mode around 0700 Saturday morning and remain there until 4:00 PM.  Primary operation will be on the PRN Talk Group for statewide coordination between participating stations.  The SCHEART VHF repeaters will remain linked statewide and will be available for short conversations not related to the exercise.  However, if the State Emergency Operations Center (K4EMD) requests the frequency, please follow their direction.  There will be no nets conducted on either DMR or VHF repeaters.  The exercise focus of this exercise will be on using HF, VHF Simplex, 6 Meters and Winlink modes to move traffic across the state in the event of an SCHEART network failure.  ESF-2 has partnered with ARES/RACES to develop a registration and contact recording system in ReadyOp.  Participants in this exercise need to register to receive points for their participation.  More information will be posted on the https://ares-sc.org/ website.
