Announcing COOP & SKYWARN Open House Day Saturday April 22, 2017<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Our Cooperative Weather Observers & SKYWARN Ham Radio Spotters are critically important to the National Weather Service’s mission:<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Protection of life and property, and enhancement of the national economy\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/p>\n

We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d like to say thank you to our volunteers for the priceless work you do. You are cordially invited to an exclusive open house!<\/p>\n

This is not a public event. It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s only for our Cooperative Weather Observers, Ham Radio Operators involved or interested in SKYWARN, and their families.<\/p>\n

\nSaturday April 22, 2017 8 AM to 3 PM EST.
\nNWS Forecast Office Columbia, SC
\n2909 Aviation Way, W. Columbia, SC 29170
\n(We are at the CAE Airport)<\/p>\n

Events:<\/strong>
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2Special Event Radio Station WX4CAE \u00e2\u20ac\u201c operational the entire day.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2Presentations:
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a28 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 10 AM: SKYWARN Spotter Class.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a210 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 11 AM: WX4CAE Station Overview and intro to NCS.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a211 AM \u00e2\u20ac\u201c Noon: SKYWARN Committee Formation Meeting.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2NWS, SC and GA ARES Representatives and area club members in our County Warning Area are asked to attend.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a2Noon \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 1 PM: Lunch and office visit.
\n\u00e2\u20ac\u00a21 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c 2 PM: History & Future of the COOP Observing Program.
