This is for Technician, General and Extra. All classes will be running from <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>June 23rd to the 27th. <\/strong>from 6pm to 9pm.<\/span> Some classes will not take the whole week but will finish when all the material is covered. These classes run concurrently. You can only choose one of the classes.<\/p>\n<p>We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re presenting the classes by video conference using Zoom (<a href=\"http:\/\/zoom.us\/\">http:\/\/zoom.us<\/a>\u00a0) If you didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have the time to attend in person before, now is your chance. Email me at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:midlandsve@gmail.com\">midlandsve@gmail.com<\/a>. Make sure you include which class you want. I will forward your email address to your instructors. They will send you an invitation to the video conference.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a tutorial on how to use zoom:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/3hj2tska\">https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/3hj2tska<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/tinyurl.com\/y8hbdlvr\"><br \/><\/a><br \/>If you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve never used videoconferencing before, here are a few tips:<\/p>\n<p>Use a headset or headphones. Any headphones that plug into your computer will do. Even the wired ones that came with your cell phone, if it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s using the 1\/8\u00e2\u20ac\u009d plug. This eliminates feedback when you unmute your microphone.<br \/>Mute your microphone when not speaking to the instructor. Otherwise, the class will hear any background noise from your computer.<br \/>Find the text\/chat function and use it.<br \/><strong>New hams must start out with the Technician course.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All classes are free. I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll need a real name, not a handle.\u00a0<strong>Be sure to tell me which class you want to take and\u00a0<em>include you cell number<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Testing will be offered on June 28th at 22nd at 9:00 am at Sesquicentennial State Park 9564 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC.\u00a0 <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Report to campsite 22 at 0900 and we will transition to the primitive shelter where we will be testing.<\/span><\/strong> We\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ll take care of the administrative work first and start the testing at when the admin work is done. Bring a photo ID, an original and copy of any Ham Radio license, <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">your FRN<\/span><\/strong> (without which, you may not test) and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>$10.00 cash. Exact change is appreciated<\/strong><\/span>. If a child is testing and has no photo I.D., bring a <strong><em>copy<\/em> <\/strong>of a birth certificate.
